It's the New Year, and things are getting busy in the most wonderful way. Not only do I have a number of jobs starting, but we're also planning our upcoming wedding! So many things to keep me busy!

Winters can be difficult here. They're especially dark and cold, and I often find it difficult to get working after the fun and festivities of the holidays are over. I often find myself getting bogged down with feeling down in the dumps. I feel a sort of romance with the season, but it can be a tumultuous relationship as well. I'm relieved to have so much exciting new work to keep me from feeling down! It's been snowy and beautiful outside, and that always helps, too.

It's always nice to connect with clients who have similar inspirations and ideas as I do. So exciting. I'm so lucky to have a number of these jobs at the moment. As they finish up, I'll elaborate.

Over the holidays I worked on a couple of illustration jobs, including a job for Uptown Magazine NYC, and when they're published I'll be sure and post about those as well. They were a lot of fun to work on. I'm also looking forward to the publishing of the new Uppercase Directory of Illustration, Work/Life 2, which is due to be out in February!

Happy New Year everyone!

  5. Oh Winter! Today is especially cold, but I find the sun helps a great deal. I brought home my Dala Horse paintings (two!) yesterday from Mjolk. I am so excited to own such beautiful pieces!

  7. Oh I love the show shoe picture... but your blog in general makes me homesick for Canada. A couple of years back when I was living in Paris they had fake snow on the first level of the Eiffel Tower and people could come and try to walk about in snow shoes. All I could think of was gym classes growing up and having to run laps in the things, and everyone stepping on their own shoes and falling flat on their faces for the first while.
Anyway, I've been meaning to say hello here for a little while now, so hello... and best of luck for the new year!
