December 31st 2010

It's the last day of the year, and I'm taking the day off.
Some friends are meeting for a nice brunch in the morning, and the rest of the day/night are open to our whims- I can't wait!

I hope everyone has a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. that looks like a house I would love to live in Melinda!
Have fun today! and see you in the new year! xo

  2. I'd like to think that some day we'll all settle down in sweet little cabins just like this! For the record, I don't recommend making a gingerbread house like this... it nearly killed me! If I think to, I'll put other photos up on Flickr! See you in the New Year, Celine! xox

  3. I hope to settle on a farm with Jinny one day. And I would love a cabin like this as the farmhouse!
Was it hard to make this gingerbread house?? Was it the steep roof that made it hard for the walls to keep it up? Or was it the amount of adorable details you put into it??
I love the icing icicles Melinda!!

  4. Oh, what a dream!
And no, the hardest part was getting the sugar syrup to the right consistency to hold the walls together! It kept collapsing! I nearly scrapped the whole thing halfway through! I'm glad I finished it though! And it will be so satisfying to tear the whole thing apart!

  5. Happy new year, Melinda! I'm so glad you were in my life in 2010 more than ever before! I just know your 2011 is going to be magical. xoxox

  6. Happy New Year, Melinda!
I love the gingerbread house, worth all that hard work!
